Job summary

Driftwood Hospitality Management is seeking a Laundry Attendant to ensure efficient retrieval, processing, and distribution of laundry for guests in a 24/7 hotel environment. This on-site role in Kansas City, MO requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with standing for long periods and strict adherence to safety guidelines.

We provide training and a supportive team in a hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skill, and ability.
• No previous experience required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending while loading/unloading washers/dryers, sorting linen and folding.
• Standing for the entire shift.
• Must follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sort all stained/damaged items and determine status for rewash or discard; maintain inventory of discarded items.
• Operate ironing and folder machines according to specifications, while processing cleaned articles through the machines.
• Fold cleaned articles and stack into designated amounts by type and size; place stacks in designated areas.
• Remove lint and debris from dryer filters.
• Use cleaning chemicals according to OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.
• Check working condition and cleanliness of laundry machinery.
• Monitor usage of chemicals and water to maximize efficiency.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas throughout shift.
• Restock work areas for next shift as assigned.
• Turn in all lost and found items and guest room keys.
• Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, and property damage to management.
• Provide a safe work environment by following safety and security procedures.
• Maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per handbook.
• Perform related duties as requested by supervisor/manager.
• Assist other housekeeping personnel when needed.

Essential Job Functions

The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.
