Job summary

Scholar Hotels is seeking a Laundry Attendant to clean and press soiled linen from guest rooms and banquet areas, under the supervision of the housekeeping team. The role includes daily laundry responsibilities, ensuring linen is available for hotel departments, and maintaining high personal appearance standards.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent and experience in customer service, with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and safe housekeeping practices.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
• Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests' needs

• Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
• Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
• Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Hotel Standards
• Sort linen by type.
• Properly load washers and dryers.
• Follow proper laundry folding and stacking procedures.
• Separate re-wash linen using proper procedures
• Assist with monthly inventory procedures and collect dirty linen from guest rooms.
• Cleaning linen traps from dryers.
• Equipment wipe down (report any/all equipment malfunction to management)
• Sweeping and mopping laundry floors.
• Removal of trash at end of shift.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
• Comply at all times with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
• Transport soiled linen from guest hallways to laundry area when needed.
• Other duties as required.
• Ensure that linen is clean and available for use by the hotel's departments when needed.

SUMMARY

The laundry attendant's primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to cleaning and pressing soiled linen which includes linen from the guest rooms, banquet rooms, kitchen and any other duties that the Director of Housekeeping, Assistant Housekeeping Manager, or Housekeeping Supervisor see fit to assign.
