Job summary

SEMCOA is seeking a part-time Laundry Attendant in New Bedford, MA. The role involves washing, drying, folding, and counting linens, maintaining accurate records, and preparing orders for dispatch.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED (preferred), and experience in commercial laundry is welcome but training is available. Pay ranges from $18 to $23 per hour with mornings or early afternoons shifts, and a friendly, professional work environment is offered.

• Follow safety guidelines/procedures per Laundry Operations Manual.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Laundry Attendant Requirements:

• Must present as courteous and professional at all times.
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to perform multiple tasks.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to organize ideas in logical and clear fashion.
• Must have the ability to work independently and with others in cooperative and collaborative manner.
• An understanding of boundaries and ethics.
• Comply with Federal Regulations, 42 CFR Part 2, Substance Abuse Confidentiality Regulations and HIPAA Regulations.
• Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program.
• Position requires physical ability to load and unload machines and lift up to fifty-pound bags of linens.
• Ability to stand for 3-5 hours.
• Ability to load/unload commercial machines up to 80 pounds.

Laundry Attendant Duties & Responsibilities:

Laundry Attendant Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Experience in commercial laundry preferred but will train
• Ability to maintain linen counts and totals
