Lodging Dynamics is seeking a Laundry Attendant to keep hotel linens clean and organized, loading washers, folding and storing linen, and ensuring timely availability to meet hotel needs while following safety guidelines.

JOB SUMMARY

The Laundry Attendant cleans and stores hotel linens/ uniforms in a timely, organized manner to ensure that hotel's laundry and linen needs are met.

Primary duties consist of performing office or non-manual work directly related to management or general business operations. Work includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Receives soiled linens by bag, cart or chute from the floors. Sorts all articles by kind, color and degree of soil. Inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items.
  • Loads washers with soiled linen.
  • Removes wet linen from washer and loads into dryer.
  • Unloads the dryer with clean linen.
  • Operates washers and dryers according to recommended capacity and other manufacturers' guidelines. Ensures necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities prior to wash cycles.
  • Transfers clean linen from dryer to folding tables.
  • Folds clean linens and stores as appropriate. Operates linen feeder, sheet folder, towel folder and table linen ironer machines.
  • Assists in daily linen counts for monthly inventories.
  • Informs supervisor of malfunctioning equipment.
  • Responds quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follow up to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress.
  • Attendance is a key component of this position.
  • Maintains a professional appearance in accordance with Company standards; wears the appropriate uniform or attire.
  • Maintains open and effective communication with team members and management.
  • Attends and participates in team meetings.
  • Adheres to established safety and emergency procedures and protocols, this includes Company, federal, and state specific regulations and guidelines.
  • Completes all required Company training/compliance courses as assigned.
  • Adheres to Company standards and maintains compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE
  • No prior experience or training required.
  • No supervisory experience required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. Specifically, if it is to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

  • Color Vision: Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Focus Ability: Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a minor amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work yet the work involves sitting most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
