Job summary

Aloft Knoxville West Tennessee is seeking a Full-Time Hotel Housekeeping Laundry Attendant to join our dynamic hospitality team at the airport-adjacent property.

You will sort, wash, dry, and deliver linens, operate industrial laundry equipment, inspect items for damage, and assist housekeeping while maintaining safety and guest service excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong focus on guest satisfaction and service quality.
• Excellent time management and organization in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to engage with guests and work well with team members.
• Experience with irregular hours (evenings/weekends/holidays) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by color and fabric.
• Operate and monitor industrial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment.
• Inspect items for stains or damage and perform minor repairs.
• Restock and deliver clean linens to storage or other departments.
• Maintain hygiene and organization in the laundry area; dispose of waste properly.
• Assist housekeeping with laundry-related tasks as needed and prioritize timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities for the Hotel Housekeeping Laundry Attendant include:

Sorting and Cleaning Laundry

• Sort soiled linens, towels, and uniforms by color, fabric type, and level of soiling.
• Wash, dry, and fold items according to hotel procedures and care instructions.

Operating Laundry Equipment

• Use industrial washing machines, dryers, and pressing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Monitor equipment for proper functioning and report any malfunctions or repairs needed.

Inspecting Laundry Items

• Check for stains, tears, or damage on linens and garments.
• Treat stains and perform minor repairs (e.g., sewing small tears or replacing buttons).

Stocking and Delivering Linens

• Restock clean linens and towels in storage areas or deliver them to housekeeping or other departments as needed.
• Keep an accurate inventory of linens to ensure adequate supply levels.
• Clean and organize the laundry room to maintain hygiene and operational efficiency.
• Dispose of trash, lint, and other waste materials properly.

Adhering to Safety and Quality Standards

• Follow health and safety regulations, including proper handling of chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with hotel and brand quality standards for laundered items.
• Assist housekeeping staff with additional laundry-related tasks, such as collecting used linens from guest rooms.
• Prioritize tasks to ensure laundry is cleaned and delivered in a timely manner, especially during peak times.
