Job summary

TPG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Laundry Attendant to process linens and hotel items in a safe, efficient manner, complying with brand standards and regulations. You will report emergencies, accidents, and maintenance needs to management and collaborate with housekeeping to ensure a steady supply of clean linens.

Ideal candidates have prior hotel laundry experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks while standing and lifting heavy loads.

Qualifications

  • Prior laundry experience in hotel or hospitality setting preferred.
  • HS diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of fabrics and laundering techniques.
  • Ability to handle heavy laundry bags and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets and other hotel laundry items per procedures.
  • Handle laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironing machines, folding tables) with safe operation.
  • Inspect laundered items and address stains, tears, or quality issues.
  • Follow instructions for delicate fabrics to prevent damage.
  • Maintain organized inventory of linens and towels to meet guest room needs.
  • Track linen counts, reorder levels and replenishment schedules.
  • Clean and maintain laundry equipment and report maintenance needs.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping to ensure supply of clean linens for guest rooms and public spaces.

Job Overview

The Laundry Attendant processes, washes, dries, irons and folds linens and other items in safe and efficient compliance with policies and procedures, brand standards, and federal, state and local regulations. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards to management.

What you'll be doing
  • Laundry Operations:
  • Sort, wash, dry, fold, and press linens, towels, bed sheets, and other hotel laundry items according to established procedures.
  • Handle laundry equipment, including washers, dryers, ironing machines, and folding tables, ensuring proper operation and maintenance.
  • Quality Control:
  • Inspect laundered items to ensure they meet quality standards, addressing stains, tears, or other issues as needed.
  • Follow specific instructions for handling delicate fabrics or special items to prevent damage.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Maintain an organized inventory of clean and ready-to-use linens and towels to meet the demands of guest rooms, dining areas, and other hotel departments.
  • Keep track of linen counts, reorder levels, and replenishment schedules.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Clean and maintain laundry equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting any maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
  • Follow safety protocols when operating laundry machinery.
  • Coordinate with housekeepers, Housekeeping Housepersons, and other hotel departments to ensure a steady supply of clean linens and towels for guest rooms, restaurants, and event spaces.
Skills and Abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in laundry operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of different fabrics, laundering techniques, and proper garment care.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify stains, damage, or quality issues.
  • Basic understanding of laundry equipment and machinery.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Physical fitness to handle repetitive tasks and lift heavy laundry bags.
  • Commitment to hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions & Physical Effort:

Physical work is a primary part of many of our hotel and resort jobs. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting to 50lbs. Some work is performed in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. The work involves exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. The exposure to hazards or physical risks requires following basic safety precautions and use of applicable protective equipment.
