Job summary

UHC United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV is seeking a Laundry Attendant to collect, wash, and distribute clean linens for assigned areas.

You will process soiled linens, count, weigh, and record items, and use automated equipment or manual methods while following infection control guidelines.

Evening shift, 20 hours per week, non-exempt, on-site role in a healthcare setting with exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Qualifications

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Position requires Sitting, Standing, Bending, Lifting, and Moving around facility.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and push a minimum of 125 lbs.
• Ability to push and pull heavy, wet linen and move equipment and supplies throughout the work day.
• Must be able to wear latex, vinyl, neoprene, and rubber gloves when performing certain Laundry duties.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

• Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids and different types of cleaning and laundry chemicals.

• Must be able to communicate with other employees and patients in a proper manner.
• Knows the procedures for infection control.
