Job summary

Premier HCM is seeking a reliable Laundry Attendant to support the Laundry Department in Dayton, OH. You will perform day-to-day laundry tasks, ensure an adequate linen supply, and help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents.

You will follow infection control practices and facility policies at all times. Daily duties include sorting soiled items, operating washing and drying equipment, folding and distributing clean linen, and restocking closets.

Qualifications

• Experience with laundry operations or in a healthcare setting is a plus.
• Ability to follow infection control practices and facility policies.
• Must be able to push, pull, and lift up to 20 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain adequate supply of laundry/linen in closets to meet residents' daily needs.
• Sort, wash, and count soiled laundry and linen for residents daily.
• Fold, count, stack, and distribute clean laundry and linens to residents daily.
• Keep walls, ceilings, and floors clean; disinfect and deodorize as needed.
• Turn in found articles to supervisors.

General Description:

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Director of Housekeeping/Laundry Services. You will assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that an adequate supply of laundry/linen supplies is maintained in laundry/linen closets to meet the daily needs of the residents.
• Sort soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., and separate those items that require special stain removal/ treatment.
• Sort, count and wash soiled laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily.
• Fold, count, stack, hang and distribute clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., to residents daily.
• Keep walls, ceilings and floors clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from equipment, using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
• Turn in all found articles to your supervisors.

Specifications:

• Must possess competency in the areas of laundry and housekeeping, as well as time management.
• Must be self-motivated, punctual and have the ability to associate with all personnel of the facility. Must be able to push, pull and move a minimum of 20 pounds a minimum height of 10 feet and be able to carry such a weight a minimum distance.
