Job summary

Sanford is seeking a Laundry Attendant at Good Samaritan - Bethany in Brainerd, MN. This part-time role runs day shift 7:00am to 1:30pm with weekends and holidays on a rotating basis; bi-weekly 36-hour schedule.

You will handle laundry tasks, sorting, washing, and distribution of linens, following infection prevention guidelines and using PPE. Prior healthcare cleaning experience and a high school diploma are preferred; driving license may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and prior cleaning experience in healthcare helpful.
• Depending on location, must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Good Samaritan - Bethany is a 79-bed long-term skilled care and transitional care facility located in Brainerd, Minnesota, in an area known as "The Heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area".
• Part Time - 36 Hours a bi-weekly pay period
• Day Shift - 7:00am to 1:30pm
• Rotating Weekends and Holidays
• Additional weekend incentive of $1.25 an hour

Summary

Perform day to day tasks to maintain a clean environment in a health care organization. Work independently or work in a team environment ensuring that use of equipment, methods, and techniques to handle laundry safely and appropriately such as; sorting, washing, any chemical application, or water temperature.

Job Description

Depending upon the location, complete assigned tasks based on that locations standard processes and policies. Follow infection prevention guidelines to handling contaminated laundry according to organizational and healthcare industrial laundry standards. Participate in laundry collection and sorting, as well as the handling, storage and distribution of clean laundry properly based on that locations standard processes and policies.

Depending upon the location, collect dirty linens (including but not limited to gowns, sheets, towels, blankets, and personal clothing) from wards, rooms, and medical offices; distributes clean and disinfected linens. Based on that locations standard processes and policies will complete some of the following tasks; washing, drying, folding linens, sort and fold clothing, and complete the proper labeling process for the designated health care organization. Depending on location will store and secure laundry supplies and equipment of a healthcare organization.

All proper protective equipment (PPE) is to be used or worn as outlined in that locations standard processes and policies. Physical activities include but not limited to, considerable use of arms and legs and moving of whole body; such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, twisting, squatting, and handling materials. Ability to lift and/or move up to 30-50lbs and push/pull up to 500lbs on flat surfaces or up and down ramps. This position will require the individual to be on their feet for the majority of their shift. May be exposed to certain levels of noise with the equipment in operation.

Depending on location of position, work hours will vary depending on patient needs. May include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Ability to use a computer, prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting, knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning is helpful.

Depending on location, must have a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
