Job summary

ChildServe in Johnston, IA is seeking a PRN Laundry Assistant to support the Inpatient Complex Medical Care and Rehab Unit. You will help ensure clean, sanitary linens and clothing for pediatric and young adult patients.

The role requires flexible availability, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and adherence to infection control and safety guidelines. You will collaborate with clinical staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with laundry, preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, infrequently.
• Maneuver within the physical work environment with some bending, stooping and reaching.
• Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing and speaking the English language.

Responsibilities

• Greet team members and clinical staff with a positive, friendly, courteous attitude.Problem-solveand respond to customer needs.
• Follow all procedures for laundry duties. Follow all soiled linen and isolation laundry procedures.
• Perform duties in compliance with established safety regulations.
• Care for and maintain laundry area.
• Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness: follow infection control guidelines, wear gloves appropriately and as needed. Follow all safety food service guidelines and regulations.

• Ideal candidate has flexible availability to work on quick notice, or cover shifts for longer periods of time during team member vacations
