Qualifications

• The Laundry Aide performs daily laundry operations in a long-term care facility.
• Handle resident clothing and facility linens with care and proper labeling.
• Follow infection-control procedures and facility guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collect soiled resident clothing, linens, towels according to procedures.
• Sort laundry by color, fabric type, soil level, and washing process.
• Identify and properly handle contaminated items according to infection-control procedures.
• Operate washers, dryers, irons, folding equipment, and other laundry equipment safely.
• Use detergents, disinfectants, and other products per guidelines.
• Inspect laundry for stains, damage, or missing ID before/after processing.
• Fold, hang, organize, and distribute clean clothing and linens.
• Ensure resident clothing is labeled and returned to the correct resident.
• Maintain supplies of clean sheets, blankets, towels, gowns, and linens.
• Keep laundry room and equipment clean and organized.
• Follow infection-control, OSHA, safety procedures.
• Report damaged equipment or shortages to supervisor.
