Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide at Ebony Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brownsville, TX. You will perform day-to-day laundry tasks to keep resident linen supply clean, safe, and readily available.

You will follow facility procedures, wear appropriate protective equipment, and coordinate with nursing staff. The role requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds and adhere to safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., for sanitation, order, and safety.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning cleaning compounds and instructions.
  • Should be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry this weight up to 50 feet.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily laundry tasks according to facility procedures.
  • Ensure clean, safe, and sanitary linen supply for residents.
  • Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services during routine assignments.
  • Follow established fire safety policies and wear PPE as required.
  • Report accidents/incidents to supervisor.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas and storage.

Job Details
  • Job Location: Ebony Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - Brownsville, TX 78520
  • Position Type: Full Time

The primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Housekeeping Supervisor, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

  • Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
  • Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
  • Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
  • Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects.
  • Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. (e.g., dryer lint traps)
  • Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area. Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary.
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials.
  • Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
  • Keep work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, excess laundry carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.
  • Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary/directed.
  • Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
  • Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
  • During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
Qualifications
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, for sanitation, order, and safety.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
  • Should be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
