Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking a Full Time Laundry Aide at Windsor Las Palmas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in McAllen, TX. The role ensures daily laundry operations meet health and safety standards and that linen supplies are adequate for residents.

Responsibilities include following schedules, coordinating with nursing staff, reporting incidents, and maintaining clean, safe areas. Training on safety and chemical handling is provided.

Qualifications

• Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., for sanitation, order, and safety.
• Must follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds and cleaners.
• Should be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and carry that weight up to 50 feet.

Job DetailsJob Location: Windsor Las Palmas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center - McAllen, TX 78503Position Type: Full TimeThe primary purpose of your job position is to perform the day-to-day activities of the Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or the Housekeeping Supervisor, to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner, and that an adequate supply of linen is on hand at all times to meet the needs of the residents.

• Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
• Report all accidents/incidents to your supervisor.
• Coordinate daily laundry services with nursing services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
• Follow established fire safety policies and procedures.
• Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies (e.g., back brace, mechanical lifts, etc.) when lifting or moving heavy objects.
• Ensure that assigned work areas are maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. (e.g., dryer lint traps)
• Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used in the work area. Refer to material safety data sheets (MSDSs) when necessary.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment and supplies when handling infectious materials.
• Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
• Keep work area(s) free of hazardous conditions, i.e., spills, excess laundry carts, baskets, supplies, equipment, etc.
• Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary/directed.
• Ensure that equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of the shift.
• Perform assigned tasks in accordance with established laundry procedures.
• During emergency conditions, assure that clean laundry, linen, garments, etc., are distributed to designated areas as instructed.
• Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
