The Resorts at Augsburg is seeking a Laundry Aide to join Environmental Services / Housekeeping. The role ensures clean linens, resident clothing, and facility laundry while supporting infection control and residents’ comfort.
Responsibilities include sorting, washing, drying, folding, labeling, and operating laundry equipment, with attention to safety and cleanliness. Must lift up to 50 lbs and collaborate with staff to meet residents’ needs.
The Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining clean, sanitary, and adequate supplies of linens, resident clothing, and facility laundry. This position plays an important role in infection control and ensuring residents’ comfort and dignity by providing clean garments and linens in a timely and professional manner.
Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute all linens and personal clothing according to established procedures.
Label and properly identify residents’ personal clothing to prevent mix-ups or loss.
Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including daily cleaning of machines and surrounding workspaces.
Follow infection control and safety protocols, including proper handling of soiled or contaminated laundry.
Inspect linens and clothing for wear and damage; report or remove items needing repair or replacement.
Ensure that proper chemical levels and laundry supplies are maintained; notify supervisor when supplies are low.
Assist in maintaining accurate records of laundry loads, repairs, and supplies as needed.
Work cooperatively with nursing and housekeeping staff to meet residents’ needs.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous laundry or housekeeping experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting preferred.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move laundry bags, carts, and linens (up to 50 lbs).
Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Knowledge of infection control and safety procedures is a plus.
Frequent exposure to hot temperatures, humidity, and cleaning chemicals.
Regular standing, bending, and lifting.
Interaction with residents, staff, and sometimes family members.
