Job summary

Continuum Healthcare Inc. is seeking a Laundry Attendant to perform laundering and housekeeping duties in accordance with facility policies and regulations. Duties include sorting soiled linen, operating washers/dryers, and delivering clean linen to resident rooms, while maintaining a clean, aseptic work area.

Experience in institutional laundering is preferred, and on-site training is provided. English reading/writing/speaking ability is required, along with the ability to follow instructions

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with intra-department personnel and other departments to ensure environmental services meet resident needs.
• Create and maintain a warm, calm environment throughout the department.
• Must relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly residents.

Responsibilities

• Handle and sort soiled linen and personal clothing.
• Load and operate washers and dryers per operating instructions.
• Follow sanitation procedures to avoid contamination of clean linen.
• Fold and/or hang clean linen and personal clothing per supervisor’s instructions.
• Transport and deliver clean linen and personal clothing to floors and residents’ rooms.
• Clean and sanitize work area daily including machines, tables and sorting area.
• Maintain laundry machines and carts in aseptic condition.
