Job summary

Harbor Point Skilled Nursing in Texas City is seeking a Laundry Aide to manage the facility's linens and residents' clothing under direct supervision. You will collect, launder, sort, distribute, and store items per policy.

Position Summary

Under direct supervision, ensures facility linens and residents’ personal clothing are properly collected, sorted, laundered, distributed, and/or stored according to facility policy

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Handles all laundry in compliance with sanitary guidelines
• Sorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipment
• Washes, dries, folds, and hangs all laundry neatly and properly
• Identifies personal laundry with resident’s names and remarks personal clothing items if needed
• Uses appropriate PPE when handling contaminated clothing
• Performs other related duties as required or requested

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Highschool diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of experience in a related position preferred
• Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
