Job summary

Bronxwood Assisted Living Facility is seeking a reliable Laundry Aide to maintain residents’ linens, towels, and personal clothing with care. You’ll follow facility procedures to keep clothing organized and returned to the right resident, supporting a clean and comfortable home for our residents.

If you are detail-oriented, can stand for long periods, and work well with a team, this role offers training and a stable schedule, with weekend and holiday shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience is a plus but not required; training provided.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and return linens, towels, and residents’ personal laundry following facility procedures.
• Handle residents’ clothing with care, making sure items are labeled and returned to the correct resident.
• Follow individual resident laundry preferences and special care instructions.
• Inspect items for stains, tears, or damage and report concerns to your supervisor.
• Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely, and report any maintenance issues.
• Follow infection control procedures, including proper handling of soiled linens.
• Keep the laundry area clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain linen inventory and restock resident rooms and supply areas as needed.
• Store and use laundry chemicals safely according to manufacturer instructions.
• Respect resident privacy and follow all facility policies.
• Work with housekeeping and care staff to keep laundry on schedule.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
