Responsibilities

• Laundry: sort soiled linen with PPE, ensure machines and chemicals are stocked and functioning, load/unload; hang clothes; deliver linens to residents' rooms.
• Housekeeping: dust/wet-mop floors, clean windows, empty trash, replace liners, report repairs.
• Safety: follow SDS, use PPE, identify hazards and follow safety policies.

Job Responsibilities:

Laundry

• Sort soiled linen with proper PPE on.

• Ensure washing machines are clean and functioning/ all chemicals full.

• Replace chemicals when empty using proper PPE.

• Ensure dryers are clean and functioning/ no lint buildup in lint trap.

• Proper use of washers and dryers - not overloading washing machines and cleaning the dryer lint traps every 3 loads.

• Hanging resident’s personal clothes in their spots on the clothing racks.

• Delivering linens to the hall closets and personal clothes to the proper resident’s room/closets.

Housekeeping

• Dust and clean assigned areas

• Dust-mop, Wet-mop, or spot-mop floors by using appropriate proportioned concentrated cleaning chemicals as scheduled.

• Wash and dry windows by using appropriate proportioned concentrated cleaning chemicals as scheduled.

• Empty trash containers, replace liners and dispose of trash in proper receptacles.

• Report repair needs to supervisor and/or maintenance department as appropriate.

Safety Precautions

• Knowledge and understanding on how to properly use cleaning chemicals according to Safety Data Sheets.

• Use proper safety equipment and tools to identify safety hazards and abide by community’s safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in laundry operations preferred.

• Being able to lift at least 50 pounds.

• Able to tactfully communicate with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.

• Regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.
