Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington, NC is seeking a Laundry Aide to maintain clean linens and personal clothing for residents. You will operate commercial washers/dryers and ensure items are processed safely and efficiently in accordance with infection control standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous laundry experience in healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate commercial laundry equipment.
  • Understanding of proper chemical handling and safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of infection control and bloodborne pathogen precautions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push carts, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
  • Tolerance for warm temperatures and humidity in laundry area.
  • Strong attention to detail in sorting and tracking items.
  • Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or with a team.
  • Flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and resident clothing.
  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and laundry equipment safely.
  • Sort soiled items by type, color, and soil level following infection control standards.
  • Pre-treat stains to ensure thorough cleaning.
  • Label and track resident clothing and return to correct rooms promptly.
  • Fold, hang, and organize clean linens for storage and distribution.
  • Maintain inventory of linens and report shortages or damage to supervisor.
  • Handle laundry chemicals safely according to guidelines and OSHA standards.
  • Keep laundry area clean, sanitary, and organized at all times.
  • Report equipment issues or safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Follow facility infection control and hazardous waste disposal policies.
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed.

Alamance Health Care Center in Burlington, NC is seeking a qualified candidate to join our growing team as a Laundry Aide.

As a Laundry Aide, you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, visitors, and staff. Working under the direction of the Housekeeping / Environmental Services Director, you'll ensure all linens and resident personal clothing are processed and returned to the highest standards to help our center meet its commitment of providing Care Beyond Compare.

What You'll Do
  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute facility linens and resident personal clothing in accordance with established procedures.

  • Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Sort soiled linens and clothing by type, color, and level of soil while following infection control and bloodborne pathogen standards.

  • Treat stains and pre-treat heavily soiled items as needed to ensure proper cleaning.

  • Label, track, and return resident personal clothing to the correct rooms in a timely manner.

  • Fold, hang, and organize clean linens and clothing for storage and distribution.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of linens and report shortages or damaged items to the supervisor.

  • Mix and use laundry chemicals and detergents safely and according to manufacturer guidelines and OSHA standards.

  • Keep the laundry room, equipment, and storage areas clean, sanitary, and organized at all times.

  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or maintenance needs promptly to the supervisor.

  • Follow all facility policies regarding infection control, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous waste disposal.

  • Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed to support facility operations.

What You Need
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
