Job summary

Onyx Care is seeking a dedicated Laundry Aide for a full-time role at Onyx of Bernice. The position involves a variety of laundry and housekeeping tasks to maintain sanitary and orderly environments within the nursing center.

You will handle linen inventories, process soiled items, and ensure proper sorting, washing, drying, and distribution of clean linen to units. Prior SNF experience and English proficiency are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixing of cleaning compounds, liquids, disinfecting solutions, etc.
• Skilled Nursing Facility Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Inventories clothing and personal items brought in with new patients and marks with proper identification.
• Picks up soiled linen from each unit throughout shift; prepares articles for washing by unbuttoning, turning pockets inside out and unrolling sleeves; sorts soiled laundry into appropriate loads for washing; follows standard washing procedures.
• Washes contaminated linens separately from other linens.
• Dries linens and patients’ clothing using dryer.
• Presses garments; checks condition of linens for worn spots or tears, then folds linen and returns sufficient amounts of clean linen to clean linen room on each unit; distributes laundry to appropriate patient.
• Disposes of unmarked clothing left in laundry.
• Maintains equipment used in performing duties; cleans washers and dryers, dryer lint filters, and soap dispensers at end or near end of shift; brushes spillage from floor into drain.
• Cleans brutes and replaces liners daily as assigned.

Description

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing center in a sanitary, attractive and orderly condition.

Responsibilities

• Presses garments; Checks condition of linens for worn spots or tears, then folds linen and returns sufficient amounts of clean linen to clean linen room on each unit; distributes laundry to appropriate patient.

• Disposes of unmarked clothing left in laundry.

• Maintains equipment used in performing duties; Cleans washers and dryers, dryer lint filters, and soap dispensers at end or near end of shift; Brushes spillage from floor into drain.

Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or redesigned depending upon individual circumstances. Performs other work duties as assigned.
