Job summary

WAVERLYHILLS is seeking a dedicated laundry/housekeeping worker to support nursing home's linen services and sanitation standards. The role involves processing clothing and resident linen, delivering clean items, and maintaining supplies with a strong focus on safety.

Ideal candidates will have a GED or high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience; basic reading and math skills are required to follow procedures and assist residents as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide quality laundry service and maintain sanitary environment for residents.
• Make available clean linen for residents.
• Sort, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens.
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms.
• Report laundry equipment issues to maintenance.
• Maintain inventory of laundry supplies.
• Use laundry equipment safely and correctly.
• Label new resident's clothing items as needed.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.

Job description

Performs a variety of general laundry and housekeeping/cleaning duties to provide quality laundry service and to maintain the nursing home in a sanitary manner, and free from offensive orders.

• Make available a quantity of clean linen for proper care and comfort of all residents.
• Maintain all linen in good repair and remove from service any linen with holes and/or stains.
• Collect laundry from residents daily or as needed.
• Label new resident's clothing items as needed
• Sorting, treat, wash, dry and fold clothing and linens
• Deliver clean laundry items to resident rooms
• Follows all sanitary processes and procedures related to laundry duties Maintain inventory of laundry supplies
• Use all laundry equipment and supplies in a safe manner.
• Report laundry equipment issues to the Administrator

Supervisory Requirements

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Qualification

Education and/or Experience

GED or High School Diploma

1 year of experience preferred

Ability to read and understand directions related to laundry/housekeeping procedures
