Job summary

Meyer Jabara Hotels in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Pool Attendant to keep pool, fitness, locker rooms, and surrounding areas clean and welcoming. You will provide outstanding service, monitor cleanliness, replenish supplies, and adhere to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Report maintenance concerns or safety hazards to management immediately.

Position Summary

The Pool Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in all pool, fitness, locker room, and surrounding recreational areas. This position ensures that guests have an exceptional experience by providing outstanding service, monitoring facility cleanliness, replenishing supplies, and adhering to all safety and sanitation standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all indoor and outdoor pool areas.
• Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, showers, and changing areas throughout the shift.
• Ensure the fitness center remains clean, organized, and stocked with supplies.
• Monitor and replenish clean towels and guest amenities in all recreational areas.
• Remove trash and debris from pool decks, fitness areas, and locker rooms.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or repair needs to management immediately.
• Ensure pool furniture is clean, properly arranged, and in good condition.
• Assist guests with questions regarding pool and fitness center facilities and services.
• Follow all hotel safety procedures and department operating standards.
• Maintain compliance with health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Required

• Previous customer service experience required.
• Ability to provide exceptional guest service in a professional and friendly manner.
• Must be dependable and punctual.

Preferred

• Previous hotel, hospitality, housekeeping, or recreational facility experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, associates, and management.
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, chemicals, and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as business demands require.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach frequently.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and tools.

• Noise levels are typically moderate.
