Job summary

Firefly is seeking a Mission Configuration Engineer to serve as the technical authority for launch vehicle mission configuration from contract award through launch execution. This role will ensure every flight vehicle meets customer requirements while maintaining configuration control across hardware, software, payload interfaces, and ground support equipment.

You will work at the intersection of Systems, Design, Manufacturing, Integration & Test, Mission Management, and Launch Operations to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years in aerospace or launch-vehicle environments.
• Understanding of PLM, engineering change, and product development processes.
• Familiarity with CAD assemblies, GD&T, DFM/DFA.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical configuration authority from contract award to launch.
• Act as interface between Firefly and customers for mission configuration.
• Translate mission requirements into an integrated launch vehicle configuration.
• Maintain baselines and lifecycle traceability across engineering, manufacturing, and test.
