Job summary

thyssenkrupp in the United States is seeking an experienced supervisor to coach a team toward optimal productivity, quality, and safety. The role involves hiring, training, setting goals, and ensuring operational deadlines and budgets are met in a fast-paced manufacturing and warehousing environment.

You will lead continuous improvement initiatives, collaborate with engineering and production, manage records, and travel up to 75% nationally to support launches and ensure adherence to safety

Responsibilities

  • Oversee launch of new products or processes in manufacturing and warehousing.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits and training.

  • Meet production and distribution objectives within budget.
  • Maintain records and administrative duties for projects.

Job Summary

To coach and otherwise guide a team of employees to achieve optimum levels of productivity, quality, and safety while meeting operational deadlines and budgets. This includes recruiting and hiring qualified employees, ensuring they receive all necessary training and education, and maintaining a high-performance work environment through appropriate goal setting, operating principles, communication, and fair treatment of all employees. The supervisor must take action to correct poor performance and behavior that puts the employee or team at risk or impacts the team’s ability to achieve its objectives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Oversee the launch of new products or processes in manufacturing and warehousing, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
  • Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety audits and training to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on new equipment, processes, and safety protocols to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Meet all production and distribution objectives and deadlines within the established budget.
  • Maintain a working list of current projects and statuses; responsible for effective record‑keeping, filing, and other administrative duties as required.
  • Provide warehouse experience with forklift, packaging, and measuring.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from previous experience and successful performance.
  • Knowledge of 6S, good housekeeping, and safety standards is a plus.
  • Understand building layouts and implement floor striping and signage based on a CAD design/layout.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and refine manufacturing processes, ensuring optimal workflow and productivity.
  • Maintain timely, effective, and professional communications with all internal and external customers, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Prepare and present reports on launch progress, challenges, and outcomes to management, offering insights for future projects.
  • Have working knowledge of CAD and related operations.
  • Travel up to 75% nationally.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Basic math and reading skills obtained by a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate with plant manager, sales staff, and warehouse personnel.
  • Demonstrate the ability to understand equipment and tolerances from past experience and successful performance.
  • Warehouse experience with forklift, packing, and measuring.
  • Must also demonstrate successful leadership and team‑building skills, even if from an unrelated business or non‑business organization.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2–3 years previous supervisory experience in a related field.
  • Knowledge of metals handling, proper staging, processing, packaging, and shipping.
  • First aid and CPR training.
  • Exposure to labor relations, safety programs, ISO standards, lean practices, and sales functions.
Compensation

60,000–75,000 USD per year.
