Markon is seeking a Launch Security Operations Specialist to support our NRO client at multiple locations across the US.






Responsibilities




The ideal Launch Security Operations Specialist (LSOS) will be responsible for (but not limited to) the following tasks:

    Provide security operations support for all launch-related activities including space vehicle (SV) transportation, processing, and integration with launch vehicles (LV).

  • Oversee and operate security and payload processing facility systems.

  • Support launch base security operations and implementation of general security requirements.

  • Monitor and maintain Access Control Systems, Life Safety and Mass Notification Systems.

  • Respond to alarms and manage event notification processes.

  • Support personnel security and visitor control functions, including background checks, badging, and escorting.

  • Implement and manage information systems security procedures.

  • Apply Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) measures and mail screening protocols.

  • Ensure compliance with government property accountability requirements.

  • Coordinate and support emergency management functions and response readiness.

  • Represent the NRO in launch security policy activities, including inter-agency and Intelligence Community (IC) working groups.

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of secure launch campaigns in coordination with range operations and scheduling teams.






Qualifications




Required:

  • TS/SCI with a counterintelligence polygraph (Preferrably with this client).
  • HS Diploma, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree (depending on seniority).

  • 2-10+ years of experience in launch security, operations, or a related field (depending on seniority).

  • Familiarity with launch base/range operations and facility control systems.

  • Experience with computer-based security, life safety, and alarm/event management systems.

  • Knowledge of visitor control procedures, AT/FP measures, and emergency management.

  • Ability to support and enforce NRO and government security policies.

Desired:

  • 5+ years of relevant site experience for senior-level roles (LSOS-III).

  • Proven expertise in space vehicle transportation, payload processing, and launch security operations.

  • Familiarity with NRO mission security practices and inter-agency coordination.

  • Ability to mentor and guide junior and mid-level LSOS team members.

  • Experience supporting classified missions and secure facility environments.






Salary Range




USD $100,000.00 - USD $175,000.00 /Yr.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
