Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Environmental Engineer, Geologist, or Scientist based in Loveland, CO, to support environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects for government and private-sector clients.

You’ll predominantly perform fieldwork, gain hands-on experience in sampling, data collection, and remediation system monitoring, and spend substantial time in the field with some office tasks for data management and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field.
  • 0-2 years of environmental, engineering, geology, scientific, or related field experience.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate field documentation.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift and carry field equipment and sample coolers weighing up to approximately 40 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including hardhats, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toe boots, and respiratory protection when required.
  • Willingness to travel throughout Colorado, work early field schedules, and occasionally stay overnight near project sites.
  • Commitment to working safely and protecting subcontractors, coworkers, clients, and the public.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or ability to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

  • Support environmental investigation, remediation, and compliance projects for government and private-sector clients.
  • Gain hands-on experience in environmental sampling, field data collection, subcontractor oversight, and remediation system monitoring.
  • About 85% of time spent in the field with remaining time on data management, report preparation, project documentation, and field logistics coordination.
  • Collaborate with experienced professionals and learn from environmental practitioners.
