Job summary

Royal Technologies in Cullman, AL seeks a Project Engineer to lead cross-functional teams and launch new products into production. You’ll partner with customers and internal units, drive APQP/PSO processes, and manage gates from definition to launch, with travel up to 15%.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering, 10–15 years in automotive or related industries, strong communication, and a proactive, self-motivated mindset. Onsite role with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering or similar.
• Program Management experience within Automotive industry preferred.
• Plastic Injection Molding experience required/knowledge of plastic part design principles.
• 10-15 automotive or similar years of experience.
• Independent, self-motivated, and flexible.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to manage the customer.
• Ability to facilitate team and customer meetings effectively.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary contact for customer communication on program status and timing; drive resolution.
• Provide expert technical leadership coordinating cross-functional product development teams.
• Support the Hudsonville, Michigan Technical Campus during initial project definition and interfaces.
• Lead launch projects during transfer to Cullman Manufacturing Facility from the Technical Campus.
• Monitor APQP / PPAP / PSO development to meet customer objectives.
• Lead reporting of project status to Royal leadership including tollgate reviews.
• Ensure all activities for major project gates are completed and reviewed per schedule.
• Execute engineering and color changes, VA/VE activities, and tool lifecycle management.
• Achieve cost, timing, and quality goals for the project launch.
• Support pursuit of new business opportunities through key customer relationships.
• Provide engineering support to onsite plant production team.
• Travel locally up to 15% per year, including quarterly trips to Michigan.
