Who We Are
Shown Media is a 100+ person creative studio. Emmy winners, ex-MrBeast creatives, elite strategists. We run viral launches for billion-dollar companies like Slash, WithCoverage, and Contra - generating hundreds of millions of views, zero paid distribution. We might be the reason you even know some of these companies.
The Role
You'll own the edit - from raw footage to final cut, from first assembly to the version that actually ships.
Not "coordinate the editing process." Own the footage. Own the revisions. Own whether the final cut is tight enough to make the launch hit the way it was called.
Here's what owning that actually looks like:
Months 1-3
- Own the pipeline. Ingest, organize, and cut raw footage into strong rough assemblies fast enough that the strategist is iterating on the idea, not waiting on the footage.
- Sweat the invisible details. Pacing, sound design, caption timing, exactly where the hook lands in the cut - the craft that makes a video feel inevitable instead of assembled.
- Build a revision loop that doesn't break momentum. Turn notes into sharper cuts in hours, not days. Keep every version, asset, and cut organized so nothing gets lost, overwritten, or re-done from scratch because someone couldn't find the right file.
Months 3-12
- Run multiple launches at once without any of them feeling like the "second priority" project. Several in-flight edits, same bar on all of them.
- Be the last line of defense before anything goes live. You catch the jump cut, the caption that's a half-second late, the pacing dip in the middle third - before it ships, not after it underperforms.
- Partner with the strategist as an equal. They call the bet. You make sure the execution matches or beats it. When the vision could get lost between the storyboard and the final export, you're the reason it doesn't.
Year 2+
You'll have a body of work made of launches other editors study to reverse-engineer. Your name isn't the one in the strategy deck, but everyone in the room knows whose timeline actually made it work.
The Type of Person Who Fits Our Culture
- You've sat in an edit bay for 14 hours because one cut wasn't right yet, and the only explanation you had was that you knew, not that you could prove it yet.
- You are chronically online to a degree you know is unhealthy. But you consider this a professional advantage - you can tell why one version of a cut gets rewatched and another gets skipped, and it's rarely the big things.
- You watch Colin and Samir obsessively. And you're the one who actually knows what plugin, transition, or shortcut they used to get that texture.
- You think in systems for post-production - version control, asset organization, revision turnaround - because chaos in the edit bay is what kills momentum on a launch.
- You have production instincts. You feel when the pacing is wrong, when the hook isn't landing, when the cut needs one more pass - before anyone else notices.
- You take a note and make it better. The strategist hands you direction, and you don't just execute it - you find the version they didn't think to ask for.
- You have taste.
