Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring for a Desktop Support/NOC role in Seattle to support mission critical IT hardware and user systems. The team focuses on safe, reliable operations as part of Blue Origin's spaceflight initiatives.

The role requires hands-on work with Windows and Linux environments, AV systems, and identity management. Occasional travel and overtime are possible during test & launch campaigns.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of desktop support or NOC experience.
  • Working knowledge of DHCP/DNS/NPS/SQL/SMTP/NFS and related protocols.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated structures.
  • Ability to lift and install heavy server and communications equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience operating AV systems.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux CLI.
  • Experience using IT support documentation and workflow tools like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Remedy, Salesforce.

  • Identify sources of system degradation and mitigate or provide data to network engineers.

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Provide front line customer support for computer and communications systems.
  • Deploy, support, and maintain mission critical IT hardware, including workstations, printers and other launch command/control assets.
  • Identify sources of system degradation and mitigate, or provide detailed relevant data such as pcaps, quantitative data, and logs to network engineers for further triage.
  • Generate and modify user accounts through standardized identity management tools such as Active Directory.
  • Inventory management, including maintaining internal asset tracking tools, spares procurement, physical restocking, and deployment.
  • Maintain network monitoring and administration tools.
  • Support occasional overtime and overnight operations for test and launch campaigns.
  • Occasional travel to support deployed ground systems infrastructure across the country.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of desktop support or NOC experience.
  • Practical knowledge and experience with standard network protocols (DHCP, DNS, NPS, SQL, SMTP, NFS, etc.)
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on elevated structures.
  • Ability to lift and install heavy server and communications equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience operating and maintaining AV systems.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux command line interface.
  • Prior experience utilizingIT support documentation and workflow automation tools (JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, Remedy, SalesForce, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with launch vehicle, aircraft, or spacecraft manufacturing, integration, and test.
  • Knowledge of industrial controlsystem and managed network switches.
  • Experience with simple scripting in Powershell, bash, VBA, python, etc.
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Netbox, Puppet, SCCM, Chef, GitLab, Solarwinds NCM, etc.
Base Pay Range for:

WA applicants is $29.91 - $41.87
