Job summary

SpaceX seeks a skilled Accountant for our Launch team in Hawthorne, CA, to manage financial operations supporting revolutionary space missions. You will prepare budgets, ensure GAAP compliance, and provide financial insights to enable rapid, cost-effective rocket launches.

The role requires 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, CPA or equivalent, and proficiency with SAP/Oracle and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
• 3–5 years progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in aerospace/manufacturing with complex costing.
• ERP proficiency: SAP or Oracle; advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of government contract accounting and FAR.
• Strong analytical, detail-oriented, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under deadline and handle sensitive data.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financials for launch programs and budgets.
• Prepare budgets and forecast expenditures for launches.
• Weekly reconciliation of accounts payable/receivable and vendor invoices.
• Monthly closes: journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review expense allocations; audit travel/expense reports.
• Prepare financial models for launch vehicle proposals.
• Monitor cash flow for payload integrations; contribute to reviews.
• Maintain KPI dashboards on launch cost savings.
