Job summary
La Casita Center in Louisville, KY seeks a Latinx Victims Advocate to provide advocacy-based counseling and case management for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, trafficking, and stalking. The Advocate handles a caseload, applying trauma-informed practices and an empowerment model to support survivor-defined goals.
Under supervision of the Mental Health Team Coordinator, this full-time role works with the team to welcome accompaniments, connect clients to holistic
Qualifications
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality and respectful client interaction.
Responsibilities
- Advocate provides collaboration between agency, clients and community.
- Assess victims' needs and refer to resources with community partners.
- Provide case management, counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning, and support services.
- Facilitate support groups with community partners.
- Assist with criminal/civil justice processes (accompaniment for DVO, restitution, statements).
- Comply with state reporting of abuse and neglect.
- Provide accompaniment by phone or walk-in; assess crisis and connect to resources.
- Maintain confidentiality of client records and services.
