Job summary

Partnership with Children is seeking Teaching Artists to work in NYC public schools, focusing on LATIN DANCE and other art forms. Roles evolve through a rolling start basis, and candidates may be added to a database for future opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have ART teaching experience, strong collaboration skills, and a commitment to social-emotional learning. The program emphasizes school-based mindfulness, trauma-informed practices, and family/community outreach.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years' experience as a Teaching Artist in their respective art form and expertise, ideally in NYC public schools.
• Strong understanding of arts integration best practices and strategies.
• Focus on the intersection of the arts and Social Emotional Learning/Competencies.
• Possess strong collaboration skills with classroom teachers, other teaching artists, social workers, administrators, etc.
• Be experienced in lesson planning/creating curriculum for K-12 students.

Responsibilities

• Teach arts integration using LATIN DANCE in NYC public schools.
• Collaborate with teachers, social workers, and school staff to design and tailor programming.
• Create and adapt curricula for diverse K-12 classrooms.
• Plan with partner teachers and administrators and participate in orientations and workshops.
