Key Responsibilities:
Setup & Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC lathes according to production specifications.
- Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, and workpieces for efficient machining.
- Ensure proper alignment, calibration, and tool offsets for accurate cuts.
Programming & Editing:
- Read and interpret G-code, M-code, and CNC programming language for machine operations.
- Create and modify programs using CAD/CAM software to optimize machining processes.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and tooling based on material properties and tolerances.
Quality Control & Inspection:
- Inspect machined parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
- Verify conformance to tight tolerances (±0.001") and specifications from engineering blueprints.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance:
- Diagnose and correct machine errors, tool wear, and setup inconsistencies.
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive checks on CNC lathes.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following company and OSHA safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of CNC lathe machining, including setup and programming.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in G-code/M-code, CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, GibbsCAM).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling selection, feeds & speeds.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Haas and Mazak controls.
Work Conditions:
- Shift: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
