Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Lathe Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining manual and CNC lathe machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining processes, blueprint interpretation, and use of precision measuring instruments will ensure the efficient production of high-quality parts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing projects in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and mechanical knowledge will shine. Must be able to thread and set up, read blue prints and use measuring tools.

Duties
  • Set up and operate lathe machines, ensuring accurate programming and operation using control systems
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications to produce precise components
  • Conduct precision measurements with calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part accuracy
  • Maintain machine tools by performing routine inspections, adjustments, and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and tooling to assemble parts or modify components as needed
  • Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency
  • Operate electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment when required for complex or hard materials
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times during machining operations and handle welding tasks when necessary
Skills

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and forklift operation when necessary
  • Strong math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently
