Qualifications

Lathe Operator B

Regular Full-Time Direct Labor Tulsa, OK, US

Salary Range: $27.04 To $28.23 Hourly

Summary:

The Lathe/Grinder Operator is responsible for setting up and operating standard lathe, grinder, and CNC machine tools in a safe, efficient, and quality-focused manner. This role requires the ability to read and understand blueprints and written specifications, use machinist hand tools and measuring instruments, and apply shop mathematics to machine parts accurately.

The operator works with various metals and understands the appropriate speeds and feeds required for machining. This position is responsible for shaping metal bars, forgings, and castings to precise dimensions and finishes while maintaining high productivity and minimizing rejected parts. The operator must be able to operate one or more machines as needed to meet production and quality standards.

Shift/Working Hours: Monday through Thursday, night shift is 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM , with overtime as needed from 3:30 PM to 4:00 AM .

Special Location/Position Requirements:

Lathe Operator Class “A” — Grade 11

  • Must meet all qualifications for Class “B.”
  • Requires a higher level of experience in accordance with company policy and progression rules.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

  • Ability to lift 5 to 60 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to reach, bend, and twist to secure parts in the machine, measure and inspect work to print, change tools, set up machinery, and load or unload parts.
  • Ability to stand 40% to 60% of the time to load, unload, inspect parts, review prints, and visually observe machine functions.
  • Ability to walk throughout the plant to change machines, retrieve blueprints, obtain parts, and complete other job-related tasks.
  • Ability to see, read, and write in order to understand safety warnings and complete required paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisors, dispatchers, inspectors, and other team members.
