Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED; ability to understand and apply verbal, written and computer work instructions in English.

  • Proficiency using measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, dial bore gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions; hold tight tolerances (GD&T) .001 ± .0005.

Responsibilities

  • Grind a wide variety of complex parts to extremely close tolerances and finishes on cylindrical, internal, or surface grinders.
  • Perform own setups, including chucking and aligning irregular shapes; select wheels and operating sequence.
  • Dress grinding wheels for various forms; inspect completed work with gages and profilometers.
  • Participate in planning work within the Cell and assist in solving issues within the Cell.

Our success is built on innovation, collaboration, and the expertise of skilled machinists who take pride in delivering precision components that perform in mission-critical environments.As a machinist within our Military Aircraft Group, you will machine some of the most challenging parts which will be used on major production programs such as F-35, MQ-25, and FLRAA.Currently, we are seeking a skilled Grind Machinist who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and wants to see their work contribute to some of the world's most advanced programs. In this role, you'll manufacture complex, high-precision components used in flight-critical systems where quality, reliability, and performance are non-negotiable.**This position is eligible for a $3,500 sign-on bonus. To qualify, candidates must submit their application between July 20, 2026, and November 30, 2026, and is subject to the terms of the bonus agreement.**To be considered for this role, here’s what you’ll need to bring with you:* High School diploma or GED preferred. Otherwise, demonstrated ability to understand and apply all verbal, written and computer work instructions or training in English, and demonstrated ability to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.* At least 3 years of experience as a precision machinist, preferably as a Grind Machinist* Proficiency using various measuring equipment, including but not limited to, Micrometers, Calipers, and Dial Bore Gauges.* Competency in reading and interpreting blueprints and written work instructions.* Ability to select grinding wheels, properly dress the wheel and run production parts according to drawing requirements.* Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances, typically .001 +/- .0005, associated with the machining of precision parts (GD&T).* In accordance with strict Federal Aviation Agency (F.A.A.) regulations regarding Safety Sensitive Work (S.S.W.), employee enrollment & participation in the company’s \"F.A.A. Drug & Alcohol Program\" is a requirement for this position.As a Grind Machinist II, you will:* Work from blueprints, operation sheets and/or verbal instructions.* Grind a wide variety of complex parts having either intricate recessing, interim grooving, numerous steps, tapers, unusual contours, to extremely close tolerances and/or a high degree of finish on two or more of the following type grinders: cylindrical, internal, or surface.* Perform your own set-ups, including chucking and aligning of parts having irregular shapes, selecting proper wheels, speeds, feeds, and operating sequence.* Dress wheels for form, taper, steps, straight and unusual forms.* Perform inspection of all work performed using air gages, diatest, V-blocks, profilometers angle plates, and electronic gauging equipment.
