Responsibilities
- Setup and operate Manual Lathe with minimal assistance.
- Validate work instructions before machining to ensure accuracy.
- Adapt to work on CNC and manual machines as needed.
- Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and make adjustments.
- Complete work order routings to document actions.
- Work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment to meet production goals.
- Perform 100% inspections to meet dimensional and surface finish requirements.
- Follow all health, safety, environmental, HR, and quality policies and procedures.
- Wear PPE including safety glasses, steel toe boots, and hard hat at all times.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and perform basic preventative maintenance.
- Minimize scrap rates to uphold high-quality standards.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
- Load parts with overhead lifting equipment if necessary, operate controls, set offsets, and perform simple edits and deburring.
- Contribute to safety, quality, innovation, and cost objectives; suggest process improvements.
- Own and maintain personal tools required for the job.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of machining experience, with strong preference for Manual Lathe experience.
- Experience with CNC machines, grinders, drill presses, hydraulic presses, etc.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Effective communication skills.
- Vocational or technical training is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Ability to adapt to change and take on responsibilities.
- Experience with conversational programming.
- Calm and effective handling of stressful situations.
- Knowledge of mills is advantageous.
- Ability to operate a small LP forklift and a horizontal band saw.
- Flexibility to work overtime and transition to CNC machining.
