Job summary

The City of Owensboro Fire Department seeks experienced firefighters for a full-time role with a 24-hour on/48-hour off shift schedule. Shifts include First, Second and Third Shift, weekends and holidays. Prior lateral transfer eligibility requires recent full-time firefighting in another department.

Applicants must have IFSAC certifications and EMT-Basics, plus meet CPAT and background requirements. Excellent pay, benefits, and retirement are provided.

Qualifications

• Two consecutive years of full-time paid firefighter experience.
• Current CPAT cards required at hire for out-of-state applicants and non-participating departments.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a member of the Owensboro Fire Department to protect lives and property.
• Respond to fires, medical and other emergencies, and extinguish incidents.
• Relocation is not provided; participate in supplemental training and evaluations.
