Job summary

The City of Tolleson is seeking qualified individuals for the Police Officer - Lateral position with Tolleson Police Department. You will respond to calls, conduct investigations, patrol, and enforce traffic and criminal laws to ensure public safety across municipal streets and neighborhoods.

A generous $8,000 hiring bonus is offered to qualified lateral sworn officers, with 50% paid on hire and the remaining upon successful completion of the introductory probationary period.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid AZ driver''s license.
• POST certification in good standing or eligible for AZ POST waiver exam.
• Strong communication skills and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to criminal and public calls for service including fires, accidents, crimes, disturbances, and other citizen requests.
• Respond to crimes in progress and conduct investigations.
• Maintain readiness for emergency call response and provide assistance at scenes; write reports and related paperwork.
• Patrol assigned areas by vehicle, bike, motorcycle, or on foot to enforce laws and ensure public safety.
• Attend court and testify; perform related duties including court security and community functions.
