Job summary

Neogen Corporation seeks a Lateral Flow QC Supervisor to provide leadership and first-line management to Quality Technicians, ensuring high-quality service in the Quality Control department. Lead with expertise to support ISO17025 and related standards, maintain audit readiness, and guide day-to-day lab functions.

You will partner with Technical and Unit Managers to implement QMS, oversee investigations, and drive improvements while supporting product development and validation activities across

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical science, chemistry, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a technical management role is preferred.
  • Experience implementing and managing ISO17025 quality management systems is desirable.
  • Experience presenting scientific results to diverse audiences is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct line management including appraisal, development, performance monitoring and competency assessments.
  • Engage with Accreditation Body assessment audits and deliver evidence of compliance.
  • Seek improvements to service delivery and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to develop capabilities, improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
  • Implement quality management systems to meet ISO 17025 requirements and ensure audit readiness.
  • Supervise day-to-day laboratory activities and support the Laboratory Manager.
  • Support product lines across internal departments and R&D.
  • Support new product development and manage project team meetings.
  • Tabulate and graph data and prepare technical reports for senior personnel.

Education

  • Work with Managers to identify opportunities to develop capabilities, innovation, improve efficiencies, and reducing costs where applicable.
  • Responsible for implementation of quality management systems that meet accredited quality standards for ISO 17025, leading project plans and working closely with Technical Managers and Unit Managers to ensure compliance.
  • Supervise and assist in the day-to-day activities in the laboratory with frequent updates provided to the Laboratory Manager. To carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by management.
  • Support the product line across internal departments (manufacturing, quality control, purchasing, R&D, sales, marketing etc.)
  • Support new product development and manage project team meetings.
  • Tabulates and graphs data and prepares technical reports for senior personnel.
  • Work with R&D and technical services on necessary product validations.

The Lateral Flow QC Supervisor will provide leadership and first line management to the Quality Technicians to ensure an effective quality of services for the Quality Control department. To provide specialist advice and knowledge to the laboratory staff to ensure the successful implementation of Quality Management Systems that adhere to the requirements of ISO17025 and similar mandated quality standards. To manage the QMS to ensure we remain ‘audit ready’. To provide leadership and assistance in the laboratory’s day to day functions.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in physical science, chemistry, or related fields
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with laboratory setting.

  • Prior experience of successfully implementing and managing a quality management system accredited to ISO17025 or a similarly robust conformity assessment standard is desirable.
  • Experience in presenting scientific results to diverse audiences is preferred.
  • Experience in diagnostic kit validation is preferred.
