Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• EMT Certification (NREMT or VT EMT).
• Firefighter 1 Certification (including training records).
• Minimum 1 year experience as a fulltime career firefighter.
• CPAT certification obtained no more than 12 months prior to time of application. CPAT due by 12/31/2026.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire suppression, emergency medical care, hazmat mitigation, technical-rescue incident mitigation, training and fire prevention.
• Demonstrate competency in essential skills following condensed fire academy.
• Attend regularly to meet job function expectations.
• Drive and operate fire department apparatus as taught by BFD Fire Academy.
• Collaborate with team to provide patient care and incident response.
