The Piqua Police Department is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Police Officer. This role requires Lateral Entry applicants as well as OPOTA certified individuals. Ideal candidates will ensure public safety and enforce laws while adhering to rigorous fitness and background standards. Applicants must be US citizens with a valid driver's license and undergo various assessments prior to appointment.
The City of Piqua is recruiting candidates for the position of full-time Police Officer. The Piqua Police Department is looking for Lateral Entry applicants as well as OPOTA certified candidates to fill existing vacancies.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age but less than 35 years of age at appointment (no maximum age for Lateral applicants), possess a High School Diploma or GED, be a US Citizen, and possess a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
Prior to appointment, a candidate must submit and successfully pass physical fitness testing, an extensive background investigation, truth verification test, pre-employment drug screen, physical and psychological examination. Current base salary range for this position is $34.97/hr to $42.74/hr (plus the potential for an additional 3% Master Police Officer certification or college education incentive). Lateral applicants pay step based on prior experience up to $40.98/hr starting pay.
