Job summary

The University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician 1 for the LASIK and Laser Vision Center in Miami, FL. This full-time role focuses on ophthalmic testing, patient preparation, and support for laser procedures, with responsibilities across clinical and surgical workflows.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, certification/licensing as required by the department, and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Certification or licensing as required by the department.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant ophthalmic experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic testing and measurements per training and protocols.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic studies, treatments or procedures.
• Document patient histories and test results in the EMR.
• Operate ophthalmic instruments and laser systems for procedures.
• Assist physicians and care teams during examinations and procedures.
