Job description

This entry-level role supports production by assembling metal components and preparing parts for welding operations. The Welder Assembler works under technical guidance to install hardware, apply insulation, and ensure a smooth flow of materials. This position collaborates directly with production, quality, and safety teams to meet manufacturing targets while maintaining a clean, organized, and secure workspace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly & Fabrication: Assist in assembling metal pans and components according to foundational assembly guides. Install toggle locks, handles, hinges, and other basic hardware using hand tools and fixtures while ensuring proper alignment.
  • Welding Support & Preparation: Perform essential spot weld preparation, including cleaning, clamping, and staging of materials. Support laser weld operators through efficient part handling and staging.
  • Material Handling & Prep: Apply insulation to bottom pans and drain pans following specific technical instructions. Lift and handle sheet metal components safely and effectively.
  • Quality Control & Measurement: Utilize tape measures and basic rulers to verify simple part measurements. Review job travelers and production tags to guarantee the correct part sequence. Identify and report defects or equipment malfunctions immediately to the department lead.
  • Operations & 5S Maintenance: Achieve beginner-level production targets while adhering to all verbal and written work instructions. Uphold departmental 5S standards to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Experience: 0 to 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using basic manual and power hand tools. Ability to interpret simple technical prints and assembly diagrams. Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with Spanish as a plus.
  • Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, high-volume production environment. Strong commitment to teamwork, positive professional relationships, and maintaining continuous material flow. Foundational understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to safely lift up to 40 pounds following all safety procedures and company guidelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to maintain strong, seamless working relationships with Production, Quality, and Safety personnel.
