Job summary

voestalpine Roll Forming Corporation in Shelbyville, KY is seeking a Laser Weld Operator Trainee for a full-time position. You will learn laser weld setup and operation, perform butt weld and seam weld, and inspect parts per blueprints and diagrams.

You will also record inventory in manufacturing software, follow work instructions, and assist with material handling. This role may train on 1st shift; physical lifting up to 60 lbs is required and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• Up to 3 months related experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• Experience with laser welding and programming is a plus.
• Experience reading blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Load/unload parts safely.
• Record inventory transactions in manufacturing software.
• Set up machine, tooling, and fixtures for laser weld equipment.
• Ensure product quality per specifications and blueprints.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $27.25 Hourly

We're seeking motivated Laser Weld Operator Trainees who enjoy hands-on machine operation and working in an manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

Using laser weld equipment (Butt Weld and Seam Weld). Performing tasks such as: setting up tools and equipment to operate laser weld equipment for production to form/cut material as specified by work order and specific blueprints and diagrams, quality inspection of product. Completing and passing required seat track laser weld operator training curriculum. See attached description for details.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Others as assigned.

• Safely load and unload parts.
• Uses basic computer skills to record inventory transactions in manufacturing software.
• Setup machine, tooling, fixtures independently,
• Uses knowledge of measuring tools to assure required quality standards are met.
• Follows all verbal and written instructions pertaining to the operation of the laser weld and cut machines and related equipment as well as any other jobs to which he/she may be assigned.

* Employees hired for weekend day shift may train on 1st shift for 6 months - 1 year. 1st shift hours are 5:00AM to 3:30PM Monday -Thursday.

Qualifications:

• One-to-three months related experience, including: manufacturing or similar environment including laser welding and programming experience, production experience reading blueprints and diagrams.
• Computer Skills are required - to perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Manufacturing software and ability to learn how to new programs.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
• Must be able to work shift assigned and overtime as needed.
• M ust pass a pre-employment and annual vision tests
• Must be US Person as defined by EAR / ITAR

Preferred:

• Also includes c onsistent experience in manufacturing performing machine set-up,
• laser weld production equipment, performing part inspections and reading blueprints.
• experience with making adjustments to machines or their programming.
