Job summary

Ace Precision seeks a laser operator to run CO2, YAG, or flat-cut laser equipment, reading sketches and setup sheets to produce precise machined parts.

You will monitor operations, report deviations, verify finished pieces with micrometers and verniers, deburr as needed, and document processes while adhering to safety and quality systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Works from sketches, setup sheets, and related documents.
• Starts and observes laser operations to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
• Recognizes and reports process variations, operational sequences, and dimensional and finish deviations.
• Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications through use of various inspection measuring equipment, including micrometers, pin gages, and verniers.
• Deburrs parts as necessary.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern laser operations.
• Maintains or exceeds production standards through efficient organization and planning.
• Follows and complies with safety policies and procedures.
• Accurately completes all required documentation.
• Meets attendance policy requirements.
• Contributes to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED), with minimum of two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read English and understand sketches, routings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Requires ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals and fractions.

REASONING ABILITY

Requires the use of some judgment to comply with instructions, follow prescribed methods and make minor decisions as to setups, operations, and processes.
