Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a Clinical Laser Safety Officer for Surgical Services to manage laser safety and related equipment across procedures. The role includes maintenance, calibration, daily checks, and troubleshooting of lasers and laser systems.

The incumbent will operate lasers during procedures and assist in laparoscopic setup for video and endoscopy equipment, with additional duties as assigned within scope.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical or engineering training in electronics/electrical/biomedical/laser tech preferred.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, calibration, daily operational checks, troubleshooting, and repairs of all lasers and laser-related equipment in Surgical Services.
• Operate the laser during laser procedures.
• Assist in the setup for laparoscopy cases related to video and endoscopy equipment.
• Other duties within scope of role may be assigned.
