Job summary

Basin Industries is seeking a Laser Programmer/Operator to operate and maintain laser cutting machines, program the laser, inspect parts, and troubleshoot issues. The role supports lean manufacturing and 5S across the production floor in Sturgis, MI.

The ideal candidate has CNC programming experience, the ability to read blueprints, and familiarity with calibration tools. This hands-on position offers benefits including paid holidays and health insurance, and reports to the Fabrication

Qualifications

• High school diploma/ GED and 2 years of experience in CNC Programming.
• Ability to operate laser machinery.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to read tape measures and use calipers.
• Ability to convert fractions to decimals.
• Ability to work independently.
• Knowledge of safety practices.
• Experience in the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and operate laser cutting machines.
• Ensure quality of finished parts.
• Perform regular routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machines.
• Program and optimize laser cutting processes.
• Select and adjust materials.
• Check and inspect finished parts.
• Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work.
• Identify and support continuous improvement efforts with Plant Manager.
• Sustain and drive lean manufacturing and 5S activities.
• Participate as an active member of the production team.
• Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the company's Quality System.
• Follow detailed instructions, processes and procedures.
• Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
• Maintains a clean and organized work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
