Job summary

ASI Group is seeking a Laser Programmer/Operator to program and operate CNC fiber laser cutting machines at our Eastanollee, GA facility. You will create nesting layouts, set laser parameters, and ensure high-quality parts are produced safely, accurately, and on schedule.

The role involves developing programs from drawings, calibrating machines, monitoring production, and collaborating with engineers to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Laser Programmer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software and laser programming software.
• Strong understanding of laser technology, including different laser types and their applications.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience setting up and calibrating laser machines for precise material processing.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently under tight production schedules.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality standards in manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and create computer programs for laser machines based on engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
• Create and optimize nesting layouts to maximize material yield and minimize scrap.
• Select appropriate laser parameters, including power, speed, and focal length, for various materials and thicknesses.
• Perform machine setup and calibration to ensure precise alignment and accuracy of the laser beam.
• Operate and monitor laser machines during production runs to ensure optimal performance and adherence to programmed paths.
• Inspect finished products for quality and make necessary program adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with engineers and production supervisors to optimize processes and improve production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to laser programming, machine performance, and material processing.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser machines and tables.
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines.
• Stay current with advancements in laser technology and programming techniques.
• Operate a forklift daily to load and unload material for the laser.
