This role isn’t just about operating a laser machine—it’s about leading the charge in precision fabrication . You’ll oversee a team while working with advanced CNC laser cutting systems to create components for aerospace, infrastructure, and beyond. You’ll solve complex challenges, train operators, and take pride in work that helps build the future—one laser-cut part at a time.
Set the Stage for Accuracy:
Set up and configure CNC laser cutting machines based on detailed work orders, CAD files, and technical specifications. Ensure all tooling and parameters are dialed in for peak performance.
Operate with Excellence:
Run laser machines to cut sheet metal and other materials with extreme precision, making sure every cut meets engineering and customer requirements.
Lead by Example:
Supervise and guide a team of laser operators, providing support, training, and oversight to ensure consistent productivity and quality.
Maintain the Flow:
Monitor machine performance, adjust laser parameters such as focus, speed, and power settings to ensure optimal output. Keep jobs moving and minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot Like a Pro:
Identify and resolve issues related to machine errors, material inconsistencies, or programming glitches—quickly and effectively.
Quality-Driven Focus:
Inspect completed parts using precision measuring tools, verifying every cut meets internal and client quality standards.
Collaborate for Success:
Work closely with engineers, programmers, and production managers to optimize processes and address any issues. Communicate clearly to ensure projects stay on track.
Safety and Cleanliness First:
Uphold all safety protocols, ensure the team is using PPE correctly, and maintain a clean, organized workspace that promotes both safety and efficiency.
Precision and Attention to Detail:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and nesting programs with high accuracy.
Leadership Skills:
Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
Mechanical & Technical Knowledge:
Solid understanding of laser machine functions, maintenance requirements, and common troubleshooting techniques.
Physical Stamina:
Comfortable working on your feet and handling sheet metal in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solver:
Quick thinking and calm under pressure—able to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to keep production moving.
Team Player:
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to work across departments and lead a productive team.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training or certification in CNC laser operation, programming, or metal fabrication is a plus.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in laser cutting (Trumpf, Amada, Mazak, etc.), with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory capacity preferred.
